Chelsea offer player-plus-cash for goal-machine?
Chelsea have reportedly made an official approach to land Napoli striker Edinson Cavani, and will use Fernando Torres as bait, according to the Daily Mail.
Cavani’s release clause stands at 60million Euros (£54m) and we will use out-of-favour Torres as bait, as new Napoli boss Rafa Benitez is keen to link up with the Spanish international.
Cavani is one of Europe’s hottest properties this summer after a Serie A season in which he scored a remarkable 29 goals in 34 games.
He is just the man to lead our already impressive attack and although he would still take a massive chunk out of our transfer kitty, would be a brilliant addition to the squad.
Chelsea have missed out on long-term target Radamel Falcao and will now focus all their attention on Cavani.
So it will be interesting to see if the Italian side accept the £40 million plus Torres for the Goal-machine.
