Amid all the speculation surrounding his future, Atletico Madrid striker Radamel Falcao has admitted that he will only move when the time is right for him, which could mean he will not be moving this January transfer window.
The blues are extremely interested in the hottest striker in the world and hoped that they could raid the Spanish club when the winter transfer window opens, but many believe he will not move half way through the season and the best hope the club have of getting him, is in the summer.
He told Radio Caracol: “The opportunity of playing in a different league and for a different club will come at the right time.
“I don’t stop dreaming; on the contrary, I know at some point I might want to move to a different team.
“But I still have three years of contract with Atletico Madrid and that’s the reality.”
Falcao is the most talked about player in world football and his ability to score is up there with Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo and FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi. So it was inevitable that he would be linked with every major club around Europe.
It would be hoped that owner Roman Abramovich would broker a deal to bring the Colombian to the club to help achieve some silverware this season, but at this moment in time we will have to accept that he is happy in Spain and I very much doubt they will part with him in January
