With Frank Lampards contract running out in the summer, there has been speculation about where the Chelsea legend will be plying his trade next season.
LA Galaxy and Chinese club Guizhou Renhe have reportedly been in contact with the 34-year-old and are offering one bigger paycheck before he decides to hang up his boots.
With the new array of exciting talent that the blues currently have, Lampard’s services are not wanted as much as they used to be and if the right offer comes along, then he will happily accept it and be on his way.
However, boss Roberto di Matteo does not want to lose one of his most experienced campaigners and would like it if Lampard did not leave, but he has admitted that he has no idea how things are progressing with the stars contract.
Speaking to Sky Sports he said: “Ultimately that’s between the player and the club to agree a new arrangement.
“I’m not aware how the discussions are going at the moment.
“If there’s a willingness from both sides, he will remain with us.
“He’s been a fantastic player for us over a decade, so it would be nice for him to finish his career here.”
Lampard has played 570 times for the blues and scored an impressive 189 goals. So it would be a shame if we lost such a great player like the blues legend.
